It has been nine years since the first Sin City hit theaters and that’s an eternity in Hollywood. A Dame To Kill For, another collaboration between Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez, may make some fans of the comics happy, but the general moviegoing population might ignore it and the bad reviews won’t help.

So who is expected to win this weekend? Surprisingly, If I Stay, a YA adaptation from MGM and Warner Bros., will likely beat Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The film stars Chloe Grace Moretz and it is tracking in the low $20 million range, notes Deadline. Despite that low start, it should be enough to top a slow weekend.

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For would be lucky to crack $15 million, notes Box Office Mojo. The film took far too long to make. Even though the original Sin City earned positive reviews and was a modest hit, both at home and overseas, Dame has been met with a mixed response.

Guardians of the Galaxy and TMNT will duke it out for the No. 3 and No. 4 slots. They should make around $15 million at least.

The last film opening this weekend is When The Game Stands Tall, Sony’s faith-based football drama. It is opening at over 2,600 locations, but expecting anything over $10 million is a stretch. Although, considering the faith angle the studio is going for, you never really can tell. It might surprise Hollywood like Heaven Is For Real. The film’s big names are Jim Caviezel and Michael Chiklis.
