The Six Flags theme park chain announced plans to bring one new ride to each of its 18 parks nationwide next year. Highlights include new rides with DC Comics characters, including the Justice League, The Joker and Batman.
“Innovation is part of our DNA and we look forward to introducing another exhilarating roster of rides and attractions for our guests in every park next season,” Jim Reid-Anderson, Chairman, President and CEO, said in a statement. “News in every park has driven all-time-high guest satisfaction and record financial results over the last four years, and we are excited to build on our strong momentum.”
Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California will add the Twisted Colossus, a world-record breaking hybrid coaster. The ride lasts four minutes on 5,000 feet of track with two lift hills. Twisted Colossus will be an upgrade of the wooden track, plus Iron Horse Track technology.
The Wicked Cyclone Coaster is coming to Six Flags New England.
Meanwhile, Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags St. Louis are getting the Justice League ride, the Battle For Metropolis. This is a 3D interactive ride, where riders become reserve Justice League members and help the superhero team stop Lex Luthor and The Joker.
Six Flags Fiesta Texas gets Batman: The Ride, a 4D Wing Coaster with six head-over-heels spins.
Visitors to Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey will get to ride a 13th roller coaster called the Looping Dragon, a thrill ride with loops and maximum hang time.
Six Flags Over Georgia visitors will get to ride The Joker Chaos Coaster and a new spinning ride called Harley Quinn Spinsanity.
Chicago’s Six Flags Great America will get significant renovations as part of its 40th anniversary, while Six Flags Great Escape in Lake George, New York will have its Buccaneer Beach renovated.
Six Flags America in Maryland will welcome the Bourbon Street Fireball. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, California will get the Dare Devil Chaos Coaster.
Six Flags Mexico visitors will get a new view of the park from high above in the SkyScreamer. Finally, Quebec’s La Ronde will add a scary fun house called Maison Rouge.
