Steve Martin is currently in final negotiations to star in Disney's upcoming film, Magic Camp.

Martin actually co-wrote the latest draft of the family comedy film with Stu Zicherman, according to The Hollywood Reporter, who first learned of the potential casting. Zicherman most recently wrote and directed A.C.O.D..

The original draft of Magic Camp was written by the Diary of a Wimpy Kid duo Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah who are currently set to produce.

Magic Camp follows a banker who decided to be a counselor at Magic Camp, which he attended when he was a child. While helping children who are attending the camp, he is also focused on trying to win the Golden Wand competition, TheWrap reports.

The family film is a perfect fit for the comedian, who actually started out working at Disneyland in the Magic Shop. Martin, who last starred in the 2011 film The Big Year, also was a magician in his younger days.

No director has been tapped for the film yet.
