T-Mobile is looking to steal away customers from rival carriers and announced that their subscribers who manage to "rescue beleaguered" Sprint customers will get one free year of unlimited LTE data.
The mobile carrier says that those on Sprint have suffered enough and they need to be pulled away from the Framily, noting that the carrier is offering good deals to anyone but current customers and so enough is enough.
The Un-carrier says that T-mobile Simple Choice customers who are able to convince those with Sprint, or even AT&T and Verizon, plans to switch over, both parties will get unlimited LTE data for free for a year.
"It continues to amaze me to see the old carriers failing to listen to their customers-or reward them for their loyalty," T-Mobile president and CEO John Legere said. "That arrogance and indifference has defined the U.S. wireless industry for too long. We're changing all that. In fact, this entire Un-carrier consumer movement is built on the simple act of listening to customers."
The rescue operation begins on Friday, Aug. 29. It will be interesting to see how many take advantage as Sprint and T-Mobile continue to bicker and fight for market share.
The move from T-Mobile comes shortly after Sprint announced an unlimited plan, provided customers shell out full price for a smartphone, The Baltimore Sun reports. The Kansas-based carrier also now offers 20 GB of data for the Sprint Family Share Pack, along with unlimited talk and text for $100 a month.
