Rolling Stone reported that Swift will be taking over the role that was held by Chris Martin of Coldplay last season. Swift will be mentoring all of the contests on each team and providing feedback before their performances.

Swift has performed on the Voice and has made guest appearances but this will be her first official role on the reality singing competition.

The coaches will also have mentors for their own teams. Blake Shelton has recruited country group Little Big Town, Adam Levine will be working with Stevie Nicks, Williams will be working with industry friend Alicia Keys, while Gavin Rossdale will be joining his real life wife, Stefani, to help her team, US Weekly added.

The seventh season of the Voice will be returning September 22 on NBC with the blind auditions.
