Ten people were injured after dozens of sailboats competing in a Northern Ireland regatta capsized.
Reuters reported that on Monday, close to 80 boats taking part in the championship race for the GP14 class dinghies, capsized due to the remnants of Hurricane Bertha.
What’s left of the hurricane caused the rough sea conditions.
Authorities said that all of sailors have been rescued and 10 have been treated for hypothermia, according to the Associated Press.
The Belfast coastguard was first contacted about the boats capsizing. A search and rescue operation then began and was called off within three hours after it was deemed successful.
Those competing in the GP14 World Championships were from the Irish Republic, England and Australia, among other countries.
Organizers of the event initially planned to race on Sunday. However, the regatta was postponed when four boats capsized from the rain and high winds and two sailboats sustained damaged.
The GP14 races were scheduled to run until this Friday.
