Though The Simpsons doesn't appear to be ready to call it quits anytime soon, executive producer Al Jean took to social media to offer one possible ending.

He took to Twitter to suggest that perhaps the series should just come full circle and close out exactly how it began. Jean tweeted, "@EverySimpsons My idea for last episode -- ends w/arrival at Xmas pageant (beginning of first episode). Whole series a continuous loop..."

The first episode all the way back in 1989 was titled "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire" and had Homer and the rest of the family attend a school Christmas pageant at the beginning before launching into an episode where he finds he isn't getting a bonus and they have to get Bart's tattoo removed, E! News reports.

The Simpsons is heading towards its 26th season this fall on Fox and currently FXX is having a marathon and is airing all 552 episodes of the series from Aug. 21 through Sept. 1.
