This week in music, Ariana Grande achieves more success, Hilary Duff continues to plot her comeback, J. Cole stand up for social justice and Lil Wayne announces big news.

Ariana Grande
Ariana Grande is officially having the best year ever after she had four songs in the top ten of iTunes simultaneously. “Problem,” “Bang Bang,” “Break Free,” and “Best Mistake” have all reached #1 on that same chart and will all appear on Grande’s sophomore LP, My Everything. This week, also saw the debut for the video “Break Free,” which already generated over 7 million views on YouTube.

Hilary Duff
Hilary continues her triumphant comeback with her new single “All About You.” She initially teased the songs cover art and then dropped the single days later. This follows her other new song, “Chasing The Sun,” which was a hot on Youtube and iTunes.

J. Cole
J. Cole relased a new song, “Be Free” in the wake of the death of Michael Brown. Brown was an unarmed black teenager who was gunned down in Ferguson, Missouri. This caused an uproar, not only in the community , but nationwide. The song shows a softer side of the rapper as he croons his way through the song with a surprising raspy and engaging singing voice.

Lil Wayne
Rap Icon announced the album release date to his highly anticipated album, Tha Carter V. Wayne announced that the album will be released on Oct. 28. He also revealed it’s cover art that shows him as a young boy with his mother.

Florida Georgia Line
The country super duo announced that they will release their sophomore album , Anything Goes, in October.
