On August 2, basketball player Tony Parker and his fiancé French journalist Axelle Francine tied the knot in San Antonio, Texas.
Parker, who is point guard for the San Antonio Spurs, and Francine have been dating since 2011 according to People. Before getting together with Francine, Parker was married to actress Eva Longoria for three years until the finalization of their divorce in 2011.
Though their wedding took place on Saturday, on the Thursday before the couple held a reception at the Cowboy Dancehall, where gathered family and friends could relax and have a good time.
His marriage to Francine was not the only thing worth celebrating for Parker this past week. On August 1, the San Antonio Express-News reported that the 32-year-old athlete’s contract has been extended by the Spurs for three more years. Speaking of the extension, Parker stated to the San Antonio Express-News that, “I want to play for the Spurs my whole career, and be a Spur for life…I couldn’t be happier.”
Good things seem to happen for Parker in twos. Earlier this year in April, Parker and Francine’s first child Josh was born just hours before his father aided in the Spur’s victory over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 of the playoffs, as reported by the Associated Press.
