The trailer for Jason Reitman’s film Men, Women and Children has been released and it promises to explore the multitude of ways that technology changes people’s lives.

Based on the novel with the same name by Chad Kultgen, according to Broadway World Men, Women and Children explores the lives of teenagers and their parents through their lives in a world where technology is ever-present and can affect their relationships with others and themselves.

Unlike the wittiness of Juno, which Reitman also directed, the trailer for Men, Women and Children has no words and instead features an ominous melody playing over shots of the various characters using technology. Many times in the trailer what people are doing on their phones or computers shows up above or next to their body, so that the viewer can know what they’re texting. In one shot, while walking down the high school hallway only one teenager is not using technology, emphasizing technology’s prevalence in everyday life. The dark tone of the trailer is intriguing, and leaves the viewer wanting to know what is going to happen next.

The fact that Men, Women and Children contains an all-star cast just makes it more anticipated, with actors such as Adam Sandler, Jennifer Garner, Judy Greer and Ansel Elgort starring in the film.
