Actress Uzo Aduba was awarded a Creative Arts Emmy for her role as Crazy Eyes on Orange is the New Black.

Aduba’s character fromOrange is the new Black won her the award for best guest artist in a comedy series, according to CBC News. Aduba’s role as Suzanne ‘Crazy Eyes’ Warren is hilariously crazy and creepy, with some touching depth that her backstory brings in the second season.

The award was given at the Primetime Creative Arts Emmys, which is more focused on awarding behind-the-scenes work than the main awards show. Aduba thanked her mother and the producers of Orange is the New Black,

Crazy Eyes is one of the many endearing, over-the-top characters on the Netflix original series. The show is based off of an autobiography of an upper-class woman who gets sent to prison for drugs and must learn to fit in with women’s prison culture.

Orange is the New Black also won Emmys for picture editing and casting, according to Time. The main Emmys show will be televised on August 25.

According to Mashable, Orange is the New Black received 12 Emmy nominations this year.

There are currently two seasons of Orange is the New Black out on Netflix.
