Famed actress Ellen Burstyn will join the list of actresses turned directors. She is set to make her directorial debut in the movie Bathing Flo.

The movie, which Burstyn will also star in, is based on the life of Thruline producer Danny Sherman. The plot centers around a man living in New York who is in need of a place to live and takes a job as a house sitter in exchange for free rent. The man then discovers an elderly woman living in the home, Deadline reports.

The actress, who is taking the directorial plunge at 81-years-old, has been working in Hollywood since the 1970s. She won her first Oscar in 1974 and since then has won a Tony and two Emmys. Burstyn was also nominated for the Emmy this year for her work on the movie Flowers in the Attic, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Burstyn says that she was discouraged from directing when she was first starting out because she was a woman and instead focused on her career as an actress, but when she got the script for Bathing Flo her tune changed.

“When they sent me this Bathing Flo script to act in, I began picturing scenes I just loved. And they loved the way I pictured it, and I just thought, ‘Why am I not directing this?” Burstyn told Deadline.

Burstyn now joins the list of actresses turned directors, which includes Angelina Jolie, Jodie Foster, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox and Lake Bell.
