The artist behind the controversial plan to display Kate Upton and Jennifer Lawrence’s nude photos has opened up about the meaning behind his decision.
Lawrence and Upton have both become victims to the recent nude photo hacking scandal that took Reddit by storm last weekend. Not only have their private pictures been shared on the web, but Cory Allen Contemporary Art and XVALA will soon be using the material in a new art exhibit.
According to E! News, the show, titled “No Delete,” will feature life-size copies of the scandalous snapshots on canvas.
As for the motives for this new project, Cory Allen stood behind creator XVALA. "The artist sees these images as art," said Cory Allen. "[They are] a representation of someone or something that has a different meaning for everyone. Transforming those images to canvas presents them in a different light. It makes them real."
The FBI is currently investigating the hack in an effort to put an end to the scandal and restore celebrities’ rights to privacy.
When asked about the uproar his idea has created amongst the privacy, XVALA took the attention as a positive outcome. "It's great to see people still care about privacy and will stand up for it."
