Sons of Anarchy has had countless tragic moments throughout the series where the lyrics and tone of a song reflect perfectly what the Sons are going through. This results in both a heartbreaking and beautiful feeling for the viewer as we see some of our favorite characters struggle to find peace.
To prepare for the final season, Sons of Anarchy music supervisor Bob Thiele Jr. released two new cover songs that we can expect to hear in the upcoming season, "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Never My Love."
"It is very important that our covers are authentically unique unique and different from the originals. Further, the tone and color of these recordings must share the same palette that our actors do," Thiele Jr. told Billboard in an interview.
Some of the best songs that are used for montages in the series are sung by Sons of Anarchy stars Katey Sagal and Maggie Siff.
Sagal, who is married to series creator Kurt Sutter, told Rolling Stone how she got involved in singing for the show, "Well it was Kurt's idea. He likes the way I sing, so I sang "Son of a Preacher Man" in season one. He just decided that I was going to sing every season, one song every season."
The highly anticipated final season of Sons of Anarchy premieres September 9 as the Sons take us on one last ride.
