Chris Evans is now a filmmaker. Yes, the actor best known for throwing a shield at bad guys as Captain America directed a movie and it was just picked up for U.S. distribution.

Before We Go was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival and pairs Evans with Star Trek Into Darkness star Alice Eve. The film is a romantic drama, centering on two strangers who meet in New York City and find a deeper connection.

According to Indiewire, the film will be distributed by the Weinstein Company’s RADiUS-TWC arm. RADiUS previously worked with Evans on this summer’s indie hit Snowpiercer, which was directed by Bong Joon-ho.

“As a first time director, I’m so excited that we found a home with RADiUS. I was really impressed with what they did on Snowpiercer and my film couldn’t be in better hands,” Evans said in a statement posted at Deadline.

Before We Go was written by Jen Smolka, Chris Shafer, Paul Vicknair and Ron Bass. It was financed by Wonderland.

RADiUS is hoping to get the film out in the second quarter of 2015.

When Evans isn’t directing or trying to be an indie star, he’s Captain America in the Marvel movies. He will reprise the role in a third solo movie, as well as next year’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.
