A woman has filed a lawsuit against Dallas Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones, accusing him of sexual assault.
Jana Weckerly, 27, said Jones forcibly kissed her neck, lips, and shoulders and fondled her breasts without her consent and is seeking more than $1 million in punitive damages.
Weckerly also claims that the Dallas Cowboys knew about the June 2009 incident and covered it up. The Cowboys are also named as a defendant in the lawsuit and are being sued for “failing to report the crimes to law enforcement.”
Jones’ lawyer, Levi McCathern, called the allegations “completely false” and “a shakedown.”
“The legal complaint is unsupported by facts or evidence of any kind,” McCathern said in a statement released to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. “This is nothing more than an attempt to embarrass and extort Jerry Jones.”
The lawsuit also alleges that Jones forced Weckerly to sign “documents against her will” to keep quiet about that night.
Weckerly claims she is the woman who took the racy photos of Jones and two other woman in sexually seductive poses that circulated the internet last month, according to Deadspin.
