Denzel Washington is not only playing an action hero in his upcoming film The Equalizer, but is interested in playing James Bond.
In a Reddit “Ask Me Anything Chat” on September 6, Washington wrote an answer showing enthusiasm to play the character after a Reddit fan asked him if he was interested.
“The next James Bond? They better hurry up! Yes I would,” said Washington in his Reddit AMA chat.
Washington attempted to rally fans in his chat message to support a campaign to make him the new Bond, asking them to tweet a message about him taking the role and sending it to the studio that produces the films.
“We start the Denzel is Bond campaign today,” he wrote. “James Washington. Denzel Bond!”
The current actor, Daniel Craig, is still in a contract that would have him playing Bond for two more films, including the upcoming film known as Bond 24, according to an article by Chris Agar on screenrant.com.
The Equalizer releases September 26.
