There is no doubt that Destiny is one of the most anticipated video games of 2014. With the help of Destiny Planet View, people can now explore planets seen in the game before its release.

Bungie partnered with Google Maps to release a unique type of marketing that video game consumers have not quite seen before. This is the first time that people can explore a video game world using Google Maps.

Using Destiny Planet View, you can explore Mars, Venus, and the Moon within the game's story and catch a glimpse of what you can expect when the video game is released next week.

"Our goal at Bungie is to set the bar higher than what we've done in the past so it's a different game, a different universe, made by a larger team so we want to be ambitious, we want to go after bigger and better experiences, that's our goal," Bungie Community Manager Eric Osborne told International Business Times in an interview.

From the same team that brought you the Halo franchise, Destiny takes place several hundred years in the future where a group of survivors must protect humanity from an oncoming alien attack with the help of a mysterious, hovering giant sphere known as "The Traveler."

The game also features the voice talent of Peter Dinklage from Game of Thrones as an artificial intelligence companion named Ghost. In the early beta testing of the game, players critiqued Dinklage's performance, but according to a weekly newsletter, Bungie says that Dinklage's voice-over has been "updated" for the official release of the game.

Destiny will arrive on our planet on September 9.
