Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt may have married in secret, but the celebrity power couple still shared photos of the event and, as one should expect from them, it was all for a good cause. The two were paid millions by two publications and plan on giving the money to charity.
We only found out that the two got married last week, tying the knot in France on Aug. 23 in a small ceremony with only friends and Pitt’s family. (Jolie’s father, Jon Voight, wasn’t invited.) It wasn’t until earlier this week that Pitt and Jolie released the first photos from the ceremony. They shared images of their first kiss as man and wife, along with Jolie’s beautiful wedding gown, with Hello! and People magazines.
A source for RadarOnline claims that they were paid $5 million in total for the photos, with each magazine paying $2.5 million. Hello! nabbed international rights for the photos, which were taken by a Getty Images photographer they worked with in the past.
The couple will be donating the money to their Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation, which Jolie founded after she adopted 13-year-old Maddox from Cambodia. The foundation’s goal is to help children have access clean water and vaccines in poor countries.
Pitt and Jolie have been together since they filmed Mr. And Mrs. Smith together and share six children. They are spending their honeymoon working, filming By The Sea together.
