Authorities said a five-year-old girl was found trapped inside a running washing machine at a Texas laundromat on Tuesday evening.
According to KHOU-TV, the child was caught in a machine at Le's Washateria in Pasadena for several minutes before anyone noticed.
One patron even alerted an employee that there was a problem with the way that particular machine was running. However, neither immediately realized what was wrong.
Finally, when the little girl was discovered inside the machine, the employee had to pull the circuit breakers to stop it, the Associated Press reported.
"She was tumbling pretty fast in there," said Vance Mitchell with the Pasadena Police Department. "One person walked by and said they saw something flopping around in there. They thought it was just a dress or something because it was moving pretty fast."
The young girl was transported to an area hospital to be treated for her injuries.
Police have not released many more details about the case and the questions about who was looking after the child and how she became trapped in the machine in the first place remain unknown.
