A Florida teenager fishing with his father on Labor Day had a massive catch when he snagged a swordfish that weighed close to 700 pounds.
WPTV reported that 17-year-old Adam Satter and his father, Brian, were just over twenty miles off the coast of Jupiter when the monstrous fish bit the line.
"He came up twice. All we saw was a big shadow. Thought it might have been a shark. The third time he came up we ended up seeing the fish, stuck him with the gaffe and tied him," the teen said.
The father and son had a tall task of reeling in the huge catch, which took several hours. Finally, they were able to get the fish on board and took it to the dock to have it weighed and measured.
The swordfish was a whopping 693.8 pounds and more than 14 feet long.
The teen and his dad are awaiting news to hear if the catch is in fact a record.
