Hilary Duff has announced that she will be postponing the release of her new, highly anticipated album.

The album, which is yet to be named, was expected to be released in October and be Duff’s big comeback to music since she has not released new music since 2007’s album called Dignity.

Duff announced the news of the pushed back release date on her Twitter account.

“Guys hate to break this news but the album won’t be out in October…You will have to wait a few more months. Love all the excitement tho,” Duff wrote.

Back in July, TheCelbrityCafe.com posted Duff’s video for “Chasing the Sun,” which is the first single released from the album. The video followed a quirky Duff getting distracted at work as she daydreamed about being on vacation. The song was criticized by websites like Vulture, but was recently charted as #25 for iTunes sales, according to Headline Planet.

Duff’s newest single from her unreleased album, “All About You,” has received good reviews and even peaked at #27 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

It is unknown why Duff’s newest album’s release date has been pushed back. Perhaps the Lizzie McGuire star is busy with her son, Luca, or working on her relationship with separated husband Mike Comrie.
