Kevin Smith's new movie Tusk just screened for the first time, and reactions among critics and fans have been overwhelmingly positive.
As we reported yesterday, Tusk is Kevin Smith's new horror comedy about a man being turned into a walrus, and early reactions are suggesting it is just as insane and fun as that sounds.
The film premiered for the first time at the Toronto International Film Festival last night as part of their Midnight Madness program. Slashfilm posted a roundup of reactions among critics and fans on Twitter.
Matt Patches of CinemaBlend described the movie as Kevin Smith's sweetest film, which he also tweeted reaches "new levels of WTF."
Critic Ryland Aldrich wrote that the crowd was in stitches, and other fans described it as the perfect Midnight Madness movie.
One user on Reddit posted reactions to the film, describing it as Kevin Smith's best movie and writing that it was "a fantastic display that reminds me of something out of early John Carpenter films, or Texas Chain Saw Massacre."
Tusk stars Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment, and Genesis Rodriguez. It will be released in theaters on September 19.
