The Colossus rollercoaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain caught fire on Monday, resulting in a section of the track to collapse.

The rollercoaster was undergoing a little construction and some of the wooden coaster went up in flames as welders worked on it, E! News reports.

Colossus has been offline since mid-August and so there were no injuries from the fire and luckily fire crews were quick to the scene as Los Angeles Fire Inspector Scott Miller said they often train at the park. The fire is "not something you see every day," he commented.

The fire was quickly put out and the rest of the rollercoaster is said to be fine, and it will remain closed as Six Flags works with firefighters on where to go from there, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The Colossus is a wood-and-steel rollercoaster that Six Flags decided to revamp, bringing in Rocky Mountain Construction. By the time they are done with construction, more than 3,000 feet of track will have been removed. The updated rollercoaster will be renamed the Twisted Colossus and will be a hybrid.
