These days, it seems like Morgan Freeman is everywhere, and for good reason. This year alone, he has already starred in three movies (The Lego Movie, Transcendence, Lucy) and already has a fourth, Dolphin Tale 2, swimming into theaters this Friday. But the actor, even at 77, is not planning to slow down anytime soon, and the actor has already lined up another gig.

One that, admittedly, most likely did not see coming.

Variety reports that the Academy Award winning actor has just signed on to star in Seth MacFarlane's Ted 2, which is currently in production in Boston. Freeman is set to star as an iconic civil rights lawyer, who finds himself at Ted's aid whenever he needs resolving legal issues. MacFarlane, looking for a high profile actor for the part, had Freeman in mind from the beginning, and was happy to get Freeman on board, Variety continues.

No overarching plot details have been confirmed about the upcoming sequel, which stars recurring performances from Mark Wahlberg and Patrick Warburton and also features Amanda Seyfried, as we previously reported. Seyfried recently appeared alongside MacFarlane in his sophomore directing effort A Million Ways to Die in the West this summer. MacFarlane is returning as the movie's co-writer and director, and also will continue to lend his voice to the foul-mouthed titular character.

Despite West not performing as well as hoped, the original Ted grossed $549 worldwide when it was released in 2012. Needless to say, it's expected that this sequel will be ranking in even more dough, and will be featuring even more cameos and appearances from stars during its running time.

Audiences will see for themselves, though, when the movie hits theaters on June 26, 2015.
