"The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus certainly got the support of Apple’s fanbase. They turned out in droves to pick up their new phones on Friday, helping the new devices sell 10 million in just three days.

Apple says that the new number sets a record for the company. The phones were available in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, the U.K. and Singapore beginning Friday. On Sept. 26, they will be available in 20 more countries. By the end of 2014, they will be available in 115 countries.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said that the company could not be happy.

“We would like to thank all of our customers for making this our best launch ever, shattering all previous sell-through records by a large margin,” Cook said in a statement. “While our team managed the manufacturing ramp better than ever before, we could have sold many more iPhones with greater supply and we are working hard to fill orders as quickly as possible.”

Apple said last week that there was a record 4 million pre-orders before Friday.

Both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus feature significantly bigger screens, measuring in at 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches, respectively. They have iOS 8, along with advanced iSight and FaceTime cameras. Apple also introduced Apple Pay, which it hopes more consumers will use to pay for their purchases.

The iPhone sales show that consumers certainly aren’t feeling Apple fatigue. They may complain about Apple putting new phones out every year, but in the end, Apple consumers still line-up for the latest products.
