One issue some fans had with the most recent installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise was that it cut out the characters played by Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley. We're now getting word though that Bloom may be open to returning to the franchise.

According to the Daily Mail,, Bloom says he is open to reprising his role of Will Turner in the upcoming installment, Dead Men Tell No Tales.

Bloom said that his decision to return would be influenced largely by the opportunity to work with Johnny Depp again, one of the reasons he took the role in the original movie. He also said though that his upcoming schedule depended a lot on being available for his son, who is currently going to school in California.

As we previously reported, Dead Men Tell No Tales was originally scheduled for summer 2015, but was recently delayed to July 7, 2017. This will be six years after the release of the previous film.

Despite not being well reviewed, On Stranger Tides, the fourth installment in the franchise, made over $1 billion worldwide, proving that the Pirates franchise is still massively important for Disney.

Kon-Tiki directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg will be directing the film, with Jerry Bruckheimer set to produce. The plot of the film is still unclear, and there is no word yet if Keira Knightley might return as well.
