Despite some setbacks, a poster and print-only teaser before Sin City: A Dame to Kill For exclaimed once and for all that The Hateful Eight would, indeed, be the eighth (and/or ninth, depending on whether or not you put together the Kill Bill movies) from writer/director Quentin Tarantino.

So, the next logical question was: when is the movie going to shoot? Well, the answer to that question has been revealed: January 2015 will be when cameras start rolling on The Hateful Eight.

Slashfilm reported the production date from the Weinstein Company, the studio distributing and financing the movie. Also, this new Tarantino movie will be shot in Super CinemaScope ,70 mm, and will be the widest 70 mm release in over 20 years.

The Weinsteins are planning to release the movie next fall, with a 70mm release first, followed by the release of the movie's 35mm and DCP format versions shortly after. No specific release date has been announced for either releases yet, however.

After the first draft of the script leaked online, Tarantino swore against making the movie. But, over time, he calmed down and confirmed to an eager Comic-Con crowd that it was indeed his newest movie. No cast list has been confirmed at the moment, but the rumored cast thus far includes Bruce Dern, Kurt Russell, Michael Madsen, Walton Goggins, Samuel L. Jackson, James Remar and Jennifer Lawrence. It's not officially clear who of those will and will not be in the movie at the moment.

If one is worried about the quick turnaround from an early year start time and a release later that year, one should remember that that is exactly what Tarantino did with his last movie, Django Unchained.
