Looks like fans of Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man won’t be looking forward to him reprising the role of cocky but cool billionaire playboy, genius engineer, and Marvel superhero mainstay, Tony Stark.

In an interview with Variety, the 49-year-old actor said, “There isn’t one in the pipe [...] There’s no plans for a fourth ‘Iron Man.’” The actor, however, has signed two contracts with Marvel and Disney to appear in two more The Avengers films, one set to release next year, and the other in 2018.

When asked if he’d “let” someone else take on the role of Tony Stark for possible future installments, Downey laughed it off saying, “I like that the idea is that it would be up to me, like I’m casting director for Marvel.” But his co-star in The Judge, Robert Duvall, had something to add about the Tony Stark role: “Don’t give it to anybody else.”

RDJ has been busy promoting his latest film The Judge at the Toronto International Film Festival, whose plot is listed as, “Big city lawyer Hank Palmer returns to his childhood home where his father, the town's judge, is suspected of murder. Hank sets out to discover the truth and, along the way, reconnects with his estranged family” on IMBD.com, and is set to release in theaters on October 10.
