The Rock in Rio festival will debut in the United States for the first time in 2015 in Las Vegas and will feature several huge musical acts.
The fest revealed the news on Friday that Taylor Swift, No Doubt, Linkin Park and Metallica will perform, with many appearing on the main stage, The Associated Press reports. John Legend and the Deftones will also play. Other acts will be announced later.
For the Rock in Rio, MGM Resorts and others have banded together and will build a 33-acre open-air music venue. The Las Vegas venue will have a total of five different stages.
Rock in Rio originally started back in 1985 in Rio de Janeiro, according to CBS News, where it will be held in September 2015 with Legend and Katy Perry tapped to perform.
“From the first Rock in Rio festival in Brazil in 1985 to next year's anniversary and Las Vegas launch, it's been an amazing journey with Rock in Rio fans and the artists that have taken part in the festival,” Roberta Medina, festival vice president, said in a statement.
The four-day festival in Vegas will be split between two weeks in 2015, May 8-9 and May 15-16.
