Sarah Miles is a singer-songwriter based out of New York whose music is a smooth blend of folk, country, and pop. Sarah Miles’ voice is beautiful and rich, proving to be a perfect pairing to her multi-genre style of music. Sprinkled throughout each song on Hear Me Out are soft percussion and piano, though the guitar is the most prominent instrument on the EP.

Miles’ voice is memorable, and each song is soft, easy, and enjoyable to listen to. The singer-songwriter has been compared to such artists as Taylor Swift and Sara Bareilles, and those comparisons aren’t far off at all. Her lyrics are relatable, well thought out, and are delivered beautifully in all five songs on Hear Me Out.

One of my favorite songs off of the EP is “I Miss You” that has a distinct country feel to it with guitar and percussion instrumentals. The introduction of a soft piano in the background adds a melodic feel to the song where Miles longingly sings “I miss you” to a long gone friend or lover. The song also features background vocals that sing along with her voice in the foreground, making the song feel undeniably heartfelt. Another song that stuck out to me is the second song on the EP, “Rigid Frame” that reminds me Carrie Underwood’s more soft, emotion-driven songs.

Sarah Miles is an undeniably talented artist with a beautiful voice and, with the artists that she’s been compared to thus far, is poised to become a musical success. Her EP, Hear Me Out, is available for download on iTunes.
