"Zachary Quinto has killed two birds with one stone Thursday. He will not be back for Heroes, but will be donning his Vulcan ears again pretty soon.

Quinto told the Associated Press today that he is not going to star in NBC’s new edition of Heroes. The actor played Skylar on the series, which helped launch his career after a 24 stint.

“I'm not going to do it,” he told the AP, noting that the timing just isn’t right. He also has new creative interests, like his Starz series The Chair, which airs on Saturdays. The unscripted show helps new filmmakers turn their own screenplays into films.
Quinto also has to make one more Star Trek movie, which will be directed by Roberto Orci, who is taking over for J.J. Abrams. In Abrams’ 2009 film and the follow-up, Star Trek Into Darkness, Quinto played Spock. The third film should begin shooting early next year if Paramount wants to get it out by 2016.

“It's starting to rumble. I feel it on the horizon,” he said.

He also appeared on Today, where he also said things are moving on the new Trek notes E! News.

While Quinto won’t be in Heroes Reborn, he will still be seen on NBC. He has joined the miniseries The Slap.
