"Today it’s pretty hard to find someone who isn’t sporting a tattoo, whether they are an everyday person or a celebrity.

Tattoos aren’t necessarily a bad idea, unless the person isn’t thinking when they decide to get one.

While getting a tattoo, it is important to take into consideration job opportunities, how you will feel about the tattoo when you get older and whether or not that person, whose name is tatted on your back, will still be your husband or wife a few years from now.

The point is, don’t be like the celebrities on this list and make rash decisions when it comes to tattoos. These 10 celebrities are just a small group of celebrities that have regretted their tattoo decisions.

Lucky for the celebrities on this list, they were able to get them removed or covered up. One celebrity even turned to something similar to skin grafting.

Supermodel Nikki Taylor found her tattoos standing in the way of her job. Taylor, 39, called her tattoos “deal breakers.” After having them for 10 years, she got them lasered away in 2012 with hopes that her new ink-free skin would rejuvenate her career.

9. Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato, 22, said in 2012 that she regretted her decision to get 12 tattoos before the age of 20, but she would worry about it later. Lovato says when she gets older that she may get them removed. “It was just a spur of the moment, stupid decision,” Lovato said on Live With Kelly and Michael in regards to one of her tattoos.

In 2011 Megan Fox, 28, got her famous Marilyn Monroe tattoo removed. Fox said she removed it because she didn’t want the negative energy in her life, according to iVillage. ""I'm removing it. It is a negative character, as she suffered from personality disorders and was bipolar,"" she said.

7. Pharrell Williams

In 2008, Pharrell Williams, 41, got several tattoos on his arm removed. Williams decided he no longer wanted to be covered in ink, so he underwent a process similar to skin grafting, according to iVillage. ""These guys actually grow the skin for you. First, you have to give them a sample of your skin, which they then replicate. Once that’s been done, they sew it on -- and it’s seamless,"" Williams said.

6. Kelly Osbourne

In 2010, Kelly Osbourne, 29, removed most of her 15 tattoos. She underwent laser treatment to get them removed, a process that took several months, after she realized many of them were meaningless. Us Weekly reports that she got a lot of the tattoos when she was in a dark place. ""I was miserable and I just went and got all these tattoos and I don't know why. One of them is a keyboard and I don't even know how to play a piano!"", Osbourne said. She also added, ""As you get older, you realize that you don't want to be defined by your tattoos, because that's not the type of person that I am.""

In 2010, rapper 50 Cent, 39, turned to laser removal to remove many of the tattoos on his arms and back in order to help ease the process of filming a movie. ""It cuts down on the amount of time I have to spend in makeup covering them up,” 50 Cent said.

In 1996, Tommy Lee, 52, got a swastika symbol tatted on him. In 1998, he got the tattoo removed after he allegedly assaulted a Jewish photographer that was offended by his tattoo, according to iVillage. ""The swastika was not a reflection of Mr. Lee's views. Instead it was simply a stupid tattoo obtained several years ago. ... The tattoo was insignificant to Mr. Lee, and he eventually removed it,” Lee’s lawyer said at the time of the incident.

In 2012, Mark Wahlberg, 43, got his Bob Marley tattoo removed. He wanted to cut down on the makeup process while filming a movie and teach his children a lesson about getting tattoos, according to iVillage. "I don’t want my kids getting tattoos. I’ve taken my two older kids to the procedure so they see how painful it is and what I have to go through,” Wahlberg said.

Britney Spears, 32, got a Kabbalah-inspired symbol on the back of her neck that was misspelled. The tattoo was inspired by Madonna. She had the tattoo removed in 2008.

Nick Cannon, 34, recently had his tattoo covered up after the reveal that he and his wife, Mariah Carey were separating. Cannon says he is taking everything one day at a time, and he wishes Carey nothing but the best. In regards to covering up her name on his back, Cannon said he didn’t intend for the public to see the body art yet because it isn’t finished, according to Madame Noire. “It’s not finished yet… It wasn’t supposed to be revealed yet… I didn’t know they were there, that’s how sneaky paparazzi are… I had just gotten it done, it was painful… It hurt a lot and I’m still not finished, I’m still probably like six more sessions away,” Cannon said.
