Thankfully, Ben Affleck is rich enough to need accountants, because he can definitely learn a thing or two from them for his next role.

The Gone Girl is reportedly in talks to star in The Accountant, according to Variety, which first reported the casting. A source also confirmed the news to TheWrap.
Warner Bros. is hoping to get Gavin O’Connor (Warrior, Jane Got A Gun) to helm the movie, but he hasn’t been formally offered the director’s chair just yet.
The movie was written by Bill Dubuque and centers on an accountant who is a lethal assassin by night.

The Accountant has been in development hell for quite some time. Sony once had the property with the idea that its marquee star - Will Smith - would play the lead. However, it recently landed at Warner Bros. and they were about to hand it to Mel Gibson. But Variety’s sources say that when Affleck - Warner Bros.’ go-to star - heard about it, he expressed interest.

Affleck is supposed to make his fourth directing effort, Live By Night by Dennis Lehane... eventually. That is now scheduled for release in October 2016 and won’t have to begin production until July. Affleck will have time to make Accountant before moving on to Live By Night.

The producers on Accountant are Kevin Scott Frakes, Lynette Howell, Raj Brinder Singh and Mark Williams.

Affleck is currently on his Gone Girl media tour and once he wraps that up, he’ll head back to work on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
