"Charlie Hunnam is set to star in a new Thai boxing prison thriller called A Prayer Before Dawn.
Hunnam has become a genuine Hollywood star thanks to Sons of Anarchy and now that the series is wrapping up, Hunnam will be free to expand on his career by pursuing other film projects.
Based on the autobiography A Prayer before Dawn / A Nightmare in Thailand by Billy Moore, A Prayer Before Dawn tells the real life story of a man's struggle with methamphetamine who was locked up in one of Thailand's most dangerous prisons, Bangkok Hilton. To redeem himself, Billy Moore turns to Muay Thai Boxing and becomes one of the fiercest competitors in the ring.
Jean-Stephane Sauvaire will direct the film. ""A Prayer Before Dawn is — at one and the same time — a true story, a prison drama, a survival movie, a desperate love story, and an extraordinary tale of redemption. Above all, it is a poignant and uniquely human story,” Sauvaire said according to Variety.
Hunnam is already training in the sport of Muay Thai in preparation for the role and can next be seen as King Arthur in Guy Ritchie's upcoming film about the leader of the Knights of the Round Table.
