For Ed Sheeran's music video for "Thinking Out Loud," the singer goes ballroom dancing, though not completely traditional.

The UK singer, whose latest album x dropped this summer, previously told MTV News he was training five hours a day for the video, but didn't reveal why. Now it's quite clear.

The video focuses solely on Sheeran elaborately dancing with a professional performer as they share a stage all by themselves, while two lights follow them.

Sheeran is dressed up for the video, while his dance partner shoulders the most acrobatic of moves while they intimately dance together.

The "Thinking Out Loud" video was directed by Emil Nava, who also helmed Sheeran's video for "Sing."

"It's the best video I've ever done and probably ever will do," he explained to MTV. "It's incredible, and I don't say that lightly. It's legit."

Sheeran added that the training he went through was quite physical. "It's about learning how to pick up stuff and throw it. It's interesting."
