Remember all those untitled DC Comics movies that were scheduled by Warner Bros. back in August. We now know what those all are and who will be starring in them.
Warner Bros. made a bevvy of announcements at its annual shareholders meeting, so there is a lot to digest. Let’s get started with the DC Comics news.
The studio is sticking with the dates announced in August. This new cinematic universe, which started with last year’s Man of Steel, will really get moving with next year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in March 2016.
That movie will be followed by Suicide Squad, which we already know the lineup for. David Ayer (Fury) is directing and the film will be out on Aug. 4, 2016.
Next is Wonder Woman’s first solo movie, starring Gal Gadot, who makes her debut in the role in Dawn of Justice. That is scheduled for June 2017.
The second 2017 movie is Justice League Part One, which Snyder will be directing. That will be out in November 2017.
In 2018, we will see Ezra Miller (The Perks of Being A Wallflower) as The Flash. It’s not known who will direct this yey.
Jason Momoa has also been confirmed to play Aquaman after countless rumors over the past year or so. His solo film will be out in 2018.
Shazam isn’t coming until 2019, so that will give Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson plenty of time to finish other projects before he plays that film’s villain, Black Adam. It’s not known who will play the title hero yet.
Snyder will direct 2019’s Justice League Part Two, which will be followed by Ray Fisher’s solo movie Cyborg and a Green Lantern movie in 2020.
On the LEGO front, the studio did confirm reports that a The LEGO Batman Movie is coming. Ninjago will come first in 2016, though, followed by LEGO Batman in 2017 and The LEGO Movie 2 in 2018.
