Despite only being in its third season, Fox’s The Mindy Project has undergone quite the cast shuffle and it’s happening again. Former Happy Endings star Adam Pally will be leaving the show early next year.
Pally has played Dr. Peter Prentice since the beginning of season two, but he will be leaving after the show’s 13th episode in season three, TV Line.
As we previously reported, the show has received additional episodes, so the current season will run 21 shows and fans will be given an opportunity to see how Schulman & Associates runs without Dr. Prentice.
Pally recently signed a development deal with ABC Studios. TV Line reports that, if his schedule allows, he might make guest appearances on The Mindy Project in the future.
The Mindy Project, starring Mindy Kaling, has undergone several cast changes. Pitch Perfect’s Anna Camp once starred on the show as Mindy’s best friend, but she was eventually phased out. Zoe Jarman left her role as a secretary at the end of last season. Stephen Tobolowsky, who played Dr. Schulman, also departed.
Mindy airs on Tuesdays after New Girl.
