It seems every other day that passes, we hear of a new biopic involving some of the world’s latest and greatest musicians, and this time Janis Joplin is the main focus.

Janis Joplin: Get It While You Can, is said to get the ball rolling with filming in mid 2015. One of Hollywood’s favorite redheads, Amy Adams will play the free spirited 27-Club member, Joplin.

Jean-Marc Vallée, known for Dallas Buyers Club, will tackle the biopic, reports Deadline. Teresa Kounin Terry and Ron Terry, who is also responsible for producing a Jimi Hendrix TV movie, both have a strong editorial hand in the script.

In 2010, it was already known Adams would be involved in the Joplin biopic under director Fernando Meirelles but that has since been put to a halt.

For the past decade, a plethora of biopics about the raspy-voiced force of woman have been rumored, in production and attempted. According to Rolling Stone, artists such as Lili Taylor, Pink, Renée Zellweger and Zooey Deschanel have been considered to play Joplin in an array of projects.

Anticipation runs high for Janis Joplin: Get It While You Can--if it’s a flop, well, let’s just say we’ll have tons of cry babies.
