The American Music Awards just got some added star power this afternoon. Dick Clark Productions has booked Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande for performances.
The producers picked Grande to perform a medley of her three biggest hits - “Problem,” “Break Free” and “Love Me Harder.” The Weeknd will join her for the performance. Jessie J will also be on the stage for “Bang Bang” with Grande.
Lil Wayne will perform his upcoming single “Start A Fire,” with Christina Milian. Wyclef Jean and MAGIC! will bring “Divine Sorrow” and “Rude” together.
Minaj will not only join Jessie J and Grande for “Bang Bang,” but will also have her own set. The “Anaconda” rapper will perform a single from her upcoming The PinkPrint, which features Skylar Grey. It’s possible that it will be the same song she debuted at the MTV Europe Music Awards, “Bed of Lies.”
Other performers set for this year’s AMAs are Charli XCX, Mary J. Blige, 5 Seconds of Summer, Lorde, One Direction, Sam Smith and Taylor Swift. The ceremony will air on ABC this Sunday from the NOKIA Theatre LA Live. Fans can still vote for their favorite artists at AMAVote.com.
Earlier today, Grande and Swift were named the 2014 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show performers, along with Ed Sheeran and Hozier.
