Nearly a year after causing the world to explode with a secret surprise album, Beyonce may have been planning to do that again later this month. It would have been a complete surprise, had it not been for a leaked image that may confirm a second volume for BEYONCE.
An image of what appears to be a Columbia Records and Parkwood Entertainment press release leaked on the Internet Saturday. As Vulture points out, this could have easily been photoshopped, but there are a couple of notes that make it appear real.
First, there are the realistic logos, which could also be photoshopped. Second, among the songs listed for BEYONCE, Volume II is “DONK,” a song with Nicki Minaj. Beyonce had registered a song with that title with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) recently. The prankster would have to be analyzing ASCAP’s site to find that.
“Cherry” is also listed and was registered with ASCAP as well. That track would feature Rihanna.
Still, there are some issues with the image. It lists Monday, Nov. 25 as the release date for a four-disc physical copy, but Nov. 25 is actually a Tuesday (the usual day for new music releases in the U.S.). The physical copy is set to include the BEYONCE album you bought last year, the new album, plus DVDs with 28 music videos and On The Run tour clips.
The iTunes version will be available on Friday, Nov. 14, if this image is ture.
Beyonce and Minaj have worked together in recently, performing their “Flawless” remix life last month. The studio version of the remix will be the last track on BEYONCE, Vol. 2.
The first BEYONCE album dominated the charts last winter, selling over 1 million copies in three weeks.
