Warren Clarke, a British actor known for performances on television has died. He was 67 years old. Clarke is also known for a part in A Clockwork Orange.

Clarke died on Wednesday following a brief illness, the Independent Talent Group confirmed to the Associated Press.

“He will be greatly missed by his family and loved ones. At this time we ask that you respect their privacy in their time of grief,” the statement continued.

For British audiences, Clarke is best known for his roles on television, including Down To Earth, about a family that moves to a rural region. He also played Det. Supt. Andy Dalziel in Dalziel and Pascoe for 12 years.

According to the U.K. Press Association, he recently had a part in Call The Midwife and Channel $’s Red Riding trilogy. He most recently appeared in a revival of the 1970s series Poldark as Charles Poldark.

Clarke did make several appearances in film, with his best known coming in Stanley Kubrick’s acclaimed A Clockwork Orange. He played a member of Alex’s (Malcolm McDowell) group of violent droogs.
