Creed frontman Scott Stapp was reportedly put on a psych hold earlier this month, before he posted a video on Facebook, in which he said he is broke and living in a Holiday Inn.
Back on Nov. 13, Madison County, Florida Sheriff’s deputies found Scott by a road, according to a report obtained by TMZ. Stapp was allegedly wasted and incoherent, claiming that someone wanted to poison him. Then, police put him in a psych hold for 72 hours.
After that, his wife Jaclyn filed legal documents claiming that Stapp has been threatening to kill himself and an AA sponsor with guns he owns. She also cited a Nov. 10 incident in which he called his child’s school to say that the child would be the target of an ISIS attack.
Jaclyn, who filed for divorce in October, believes that Stapp is using a dangerous mix of drugs, which has had an impact on his mental state.
The TMZ report comes just days after Stapp posted a desperate black and white, 15-minute video on Creed’s official Facebook page. In the clip, which has since been taken down, Stapp said that he has no money and accused his record label and business associates of stealing money from him.
Also in the video, Stapp denied rumors that he went to rehab. He also appears paranoid, suggesting that someone was threatening to release damaging information on him if he came forward with his struggles.
Jaclyn said that Stapp has been spending his money on drugs, according to TMZ. She did drop her petition to lock Stapp away, since she now thinks she can talk to him about getting help.
