Throughout the month of November, Twitter members who attend public school have tweeted photos of their lunches served in their cafeterias, some of the food to be down right disgusting, using the hashtag #ThanksMichelleObama.
These tweets to the hashtag are possibly due to First Lady Michelle Obama advocating the set nutrition standards in school cafeterias, as we reported.
Some lunches, such as user Maya Wuertz's post, showed how some cafeterias leave little to the imagination when it came to preparation.
"This is my lunch," Wuertz wrote in her post, showing an empty tray with a small chicken sandwich and rationed applesauce. "I'm in high school."
Some students were left to question what they were being served in the first place, as shown in a post from Hunter Whitney.
"Had a very healthy lunch today," Whitney wrote with the post that showed a meal portion he only described as "mystery mush."
Kendra Pohlman tweeted her own lunch on Friday, posting a picture of a grilled cheese sandwich with a bit of plastic hanging out of it.
"Grilled cheese and plastic for lunch," she wrote with the post. "[Y]ummy."
Miraculously, there were even posts where the meals defied the laws of physics, as shown in Jacob Ferguson's post. Without needing to comment, Ferguson posted a picture of a person holding their meal upside down, said meal to remain stuck to the plate.
