A&E is getting in the celebrity marriage reality show business, starting with a new series about newlyweds Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy. Wahlberg already has his own A&E series, Wahlburgers.
Donnie Loves Jenny will begin next year as a 10-episode series, beginning with a one-hour special about their wedding in August. It will be the first project under a new development deal the network signed with the couple and their new D&J Productions.
The new series will be produced by 44 Blue Productions with D&J.
“We’re thrilled to join Donne and Jenny as they begin the new chapter of their lives,” A&E GM and Executive VP David McKillop said in a statement. “Viewers have enjoyed following their relationship on Wahlburgers and we look forward to sharing this next part of their journey.”
Wahlberg, who spoke with TheCelebrityCafe.com earlier this month, is a member of New Kids on the Block and currently stars on the CBS cop drama Blue Bloods with Tom Seleck. His brother is actor Mark Wahlberg.
As for McCarthy, the former Playboy model spent a single season on The View, before leaving over the summer. She moved on by hosting a SiriusXM satellite radio show, which featured Wahlberg in the first episode.
