A crash on the New Jersey Turnpike claimed the life of one person and shut down the highway for more than 10 hours as cleanup lasted into the following morning.
According to 6ABC, the deadly crash happened around 9 p.m. Tuesday in Cranbury Township. All the northbound lanes were immediately shut down because of the accident and did not reopen until just after 7 a.m. Wednesday.

At least one of the tractor-trailers was believed to be carrying rock salt.
The accident, which occurred north of Interchange 8 near mile marker 69, left a backup for several miles.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash and have not yet released the name of the victim.
