Authorities have said that five inmates escaped from the Madera County jail in Central California.

According to KMPH, Abel Ramos, 25; Ricardo Cendejas, 19; Roel Soliz, 29; and Jorge Lopez-Diaz, 26, all escaped the correctional facility Friday night while Juan Lopez, 33, broke out on Saturday morning.

Law enforcement officials have said that the five men are gang members and are considered armed and dangerous.

The Associated Press reported that the inmates were being held at the jail on a number of charges ranging from armed robbery to attempted murder.

It is unclear at this time how they managed to escape. Authorities are continuing to search the area for them.

The Sheriff’s office has said that Lopez was last seen wearing an orange jumpsuit or a white shirt with blue shorts and sandals issued by the jail. He stands at 5-foot-6, weighs about 170 pounds and has a shaved head.

If you see Lopez or any of the other inmates do not approach them, but contact police immediately.
