Former CBC Jian Ghomeshi was charged with four counts of sexual assault and one count of choking after he surrendered to police in Toronto on Wednesday.

Three women filed sexual assault complaints against Ghomeshi and police began their investigation on Halloween. He has since denied the assault, claiming all of the women he had sexual relationships with were consensual.

According to CBC News, Ghomeshi was fired after they received "graphic evidence" of his assault against one woman and a $55 million lawsuit he filed against the company was dropped last month.

On a Facebook post, he admitted to having "rough sex” with women but denies any criminal activity.

In total, nine women have accused him of sexual misconduct. He’s since been charged with four counts of sexual assault one count of "overcome resistance — choking,” Huffington Post reports.

"We don't comment on criminal investigations or matters before the court," CBC spokesperosn Chuck Thompson has since said.

Ghomeshi will appear in court Wednesday at 2pm.
