There has been a lot of hype for Mockingjay Part I, which was released in theaters. Since its release, Jennifer Lawrence's eerie rendition of "Hanging Tree" has been making rounds on the internet, and it's both creepy and beautiful.
Earlier this month, Lawrence made an appearance on the Late Show with Dave Letterman, and expressed how uncomfortable she is singing in front of people. "I do not like singing in front of other people. It's like my biggest fear," she told Letterman,
Lawrence talked about having to sing "Hanging Tree" in front of the entire cast and crew for Mockingjay Part I, saying the experience was awful. However, as "Hanging Tree" makes its rounds on the internet, many listeners have found themselves pleasantly surprised at Lawrence's singing voice, and the chilling way that she delivers the song.
Lawrence's rendition of the song was put up on Youtube by user HungerGamesThai on November 20, and since then, it's already had over 200,000 views and over 14,000 likes.
Mockingjay Part I set a record over two weeks ago for tickets purchased on the first day of a pre-sale for 2014.
The Hollywood Reporter forecasted that the film would make $130-$150 million in its opening weekend.
