Former Growing Pains star Kirk Cameron has had his fair share of controversial moments over the years, and he has now provided the last controversial statement in a video posted to his Facebook page.

The devout Christian, who called gay marriage “unnatural” back in 2012, is facing criticism for saying women are the “keepers of the home” and reminding them there’s a lot to do in the kitchen and around the house this time of year. He’s also getting words of support for this message.

"If you are a mom, if you are a wife, if you are the keeper of your home, I want you to know that your joy is so important this Christmas," he said in the video, E! Online reports. "Christmas is about joy and if the joy of the Lord is your strength, remember the joy of the mom is her children's strength."

Some Twitter reactions have been, “This is not a #Disney #movie we're living in , #cook your #damn self!!! #KirkCameron” and “Kirk Cameron thinks I should decorate because I'm a woman. F--k Kirk Cameron. I may not even clean for Christmas this year.”

However, he does have some supporters who say he's simply celebrating motherhood and women. "Calling all moms, wives, and keepers of your home- I made this video for you, to remind you of how irreplaceable you are to your family this Christmas," he wrote along with the video.
